Course Description:

English Speaking is a foundation course for English major freshmen and sophomores. It is a prerequisite for Advanced English. The course uses an intensive and interactive approach, with emphasis on the development and use of interactive oral English skills in social, professional and academic contexts. The course includes vocabulary development, practice with appropriate language structures, and discussion of important aspects of cross-cultural communication. English Speaking helps students build both fluency and accuracy in their speaking skills. Upon completion of the course, students will be able to engage in English conversations applying newly learned communication skills.
